(Very) Fresh lobster for lunch
We invited a good friend for lunch today and just as I was trying to figure out what to do as an appetizer, he sent me a text message saying " "bringing lobsters from Brittany, be sure to have lemons, olive oil and basil.
As I always have those in stock, it was an easy request.
The lobsters were freshly caught yesterday and then travelled by plane with our friend in a cold polystyrene box from Britanny to Paris. They then spent the night in a Parisien fridge (still secured in their box) before being driven from Paris to our house (about 45 minutes) in his car this morning. They were still alive and in very healthy shape when we opened the box (top photo). Our friend then set to cooking them and making a sauce with the three ingredients he had requested. He split them open covered them in the sauce and then put them under the grill for about 10 minutes. What a treat!
I think we will be inviting this guest again .... soon! :-)
